In File Management Preferences, I found that I was probably tweaking the wrong setting. Under "Other Media", I had to find "Picture CD" in the Type combo box, and then change Action to "Open Folder" (it was set to Open F-Spot). After doing this, the MP3 player opens in a folder viewer as expected.
Chalk this up to confusing UI (separate setting for Photos and 'Picture CD') leading to user error, sparked by a bug that identifies my MP3 player as a Picture CD: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/258936 -- USB storage device opens in F-Spot even when I configured it to "Open Folder" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/590297 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
