I am the original reporter. The issue most definitely still exists, but I have learned to live with it.
I tried running apport-collect 544270 as requested above, but was unsuccessful. Firefox will not open the authorization page necessary to complete apport-collect 544270. Also, I cannot reproduce the bug in the latest version of Ubuntu as requested because I am one of those unfortunate folks whose computer experiences random freezes after installing 10.04LTS (from upgrade or fresh install). I'm okay with closing this bug. I understand bug tracker only supports the latest version of Ubuntu, and I would much prefer the developers concentrate on the random freezing issues in 10.04 than continue working this bug.
