The truly infuriating bit to this is that the windows EDID only differs from the ubuntu EDID by 2 hex digits. I'm wondering now if it wouldn't be worthwhile to create a tool to manually replace EDID's, and create an EDID database so people can get the proper values without having to boot into windows. This wouldn't be too hard if EDIDs are a static thing (as I understand them to be)
