This is the syslog from the password change.  It appears gnome-keyring-
daemon is using the old password to try to change the login keyring
password.

Also, I found the proper way to change the keyring password 
(Accessories|Passwords and Encryption Keys|right click on Passwords: login and 
select 'Change Password'), but is it actually documented anywhere?
