Problem "fixed" by replacing files
/usr/share/software-center/softwarecenter/view/navhistory.py and pendingview.py.
My Ubuntu system is the result of the upgrade from Karmic Koala to Lucid Lynx I
made in April/May. I encountered some problems with the upgrade, but the whole
system was working (including updates).
In parallel I've installed a new Ubuntu system on my PC from the original Lucid
Lynx, which I use only to see if problems met with the upgraded system also
exist -or not- with the "install package" system.
When the the software updates have stopped working, I've compared both systems.
Software-center had no problem on the "install package" system. Going thru the
report of software updates which went wrong, I noticed that the 2 files where
always mentionned in the error messages. I've replaced the files of my "active"
system by those of the "install package" system... Now software updates are
working fine...
Can anyone tell me how the 2 files could have been corrupted?
