It seems to me that I have the same issue: high I/O but low cpu utilization as
well as high disk utilization but low throughput. My bootup times are very slow
(up to 5min for the desktop to fully load).
I had the issue under 9.10 and it is still there after upgrading to 10.04.
(both amd64)
I have a laptop samsung q320 with P8600 and 4GB ram
