FYI:
This same behaviour is happing in Arch Linux with Pulseaudio 2.30.0-2
The duplicate behaviour does not happen (volume does not change when
balance is changed).
When I have the balance not set to centre, and I scroll the sound icon
to change volume, the balance resets to centre.
