I meant apt-get upgrade :) It's fixed now after following the instructions here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BinaryDriverHowto X -configure cp /root/xorg.conf.new /etc/X11/xorg.conf then: sudo service gdm start The xorg.conf file that got replaced was very generic. I'm not sure what the xorg.conf file looked like before the upgrade to Lucid. I didn't back it up.
