This sounds like Ubuntu becoming more and more like Windows - very
fragile.

Ubuntu is saying, effectively, "Well, I don't understand the problem,
so I'm not going to fix it."

It's not like a bunch of people haven't already pointed out that there
_is_ a problem. Ubuntu just doesn't want to be bothered with having to
fix it. Fair enough. There are other distributions to try...

Yes, I am seeing the same useless "spam" logs, while the sound continues
to work. And yes, the message in the log is meaningless and useless.
And yes, I believe that it is Ubuntu that has the responsibility to
address the issue, either by talking directly with the up-stream
developers, or by fixing the issue themselves, if only to create a
meaningful and useful message, to identify the actual problem. And no,
I don't know how pulseaudio works, or why alsa and pulseaudio have to
over-lap functionality, instead of making alsa volume controls work
right in the first place.

In the end, it's _Ubuntu_ that is "broken", sort of like rotting
concrete, regression after regression ... lots of "bling", but the basic
functionality is becoming fragile and pock-marked, the foundation
rotting away. Ubuntu - bling built on rot. Instead, see if you can
find some pride in your product. Hey - I'm still using it.
