Hi Martin. Thanks for dealing with this bug: These are the steps I have done to provide error_log:
$ sudo /etc/init.d/cupsys status Status of Common Unix Printing System: cupsd is not running. Then I cleared /var/log/cups/error_log $ sudo /etc/init.d/cupsys start * Starting Common Unix Printing System: cupsd [ OK ] $ sudo /etc/init.d/cupsys status Status of Common Unix Printing System: cupsd is running. Then I went to http://localhost:631 which was ok. $ sudo /etc/init.d/cupsys status Status of Common Unix Printing System: cupsd is running. Then I clicked on "add printer" (Drucker hinzufügen) and all I got was a white page. When I look at the cupsys status I get: $ sudo /etc/init.d/cupsys status Status of Common Unix Printing System: cupsd is not running but /var/run/cups/cupsd.pid exists. I really hope that helps, If you need more information, I'll provide it. ** Attachment added: "/var/log/cups/error_log" http://librarian.launchpad.net/7053877/error_log -- cupsys gets killed when adding a printer https://launchpad.net/bugs/98889 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
