I had reformatted my hard drive on an older 86x (@2000). I
downloaded/burned Live CD. Ubuntu loaded fine from the CD, but the
installer would not open, or would ask for a password, or would tell me
I didn't have privileges for it. I rebooted, rebooted, rebooted.
Finally installer started, then crashed w/ above message.
I love what little I've experienced of Ubuntu: not sure what to try next
to get it installed.
