It's actually a little "funky" platform, a Via C3 processor.  I bought
it years ago because of its power-conservatism.

$ cat /proc/cpuinfo

$ uname -m
i686

In the back of my mind I remember something about the C3 processor being
a proper i686 processor but lacking one particular instruction. IIRC it
was cmov. Does that possibly explain the error? I really like the
little processor but unfortunately it quite often is treated a second
class citizen in the kernel.
