** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: Hi, I'm using Kubuntu Lucid Lynx on a Samsung NC10 and I couldn't change the backlight for a long time The only thing that worked for me was using setpci -s 00:02.1 F4.B=FF replacing FF by a hex value in range 00:FF to adjust brightness When I run xbacklight it outputs "No outputs have backlight property" I hope it helps you to fix the bug, and I remain available for more info + --- + AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.21. + AplayDevices: + **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** + card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: ALC272 Analog [ALC272 Analog] + Subdevices: 1/1 + Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 + Architecture: i386 + ArecordDevices: + **** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices **** + card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: ALC272 Analog [ALC272 Analog] + Subdevices: 1/1 + Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 + AudioDevicesInUse: + USER PID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC0: guillaume 4609 F.... pulseaudio + CRDA: + country 98: + (2402 - 2482 @ 40), (N/A, 20) + Card0.Amixer.info: + Card hw:0 'Intel'/'HDA Intel at 0xf0340000 irq 22' + Mixer name : 'Realtek ALC272' + Components : 'HDA:10ec0272,144dca00,00100001' + Controls : 18 + Simple ctrls : 11 + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 + Frequency: This has only happened once. + HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=c193737c-3736-41ac-a11a-fe05238f755f + InstallationMedia: Kubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release i386 (20100427) + MachineType: SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD.
