Maybe this is related to some corrupted settings?

Please try the following:
1. Exit beryl
2. Move the settings directory ~/.beryl to e.g. ~/.beryl.bak
3. Start beryl again

Alternatively you could try de-activating plugins one-by-one to find out
what's causing this.

I cannot see a mouse cursor in your screenshot - maybe this is even the
expected/configured behaviour: all windows seem to be "just" opacified
somehow!?

I tend to say this is not a bug, but a configuration issue.
