I have the same problem on my Acer Aspire 3023 WLMi, though it looks as though the display adapter (ATi X700, 1280 x 800 pixels) is fully supported, including 3D acceleration. The greatest resolution that I can select is 800 x 600, which is not big enough to display the install program window (the bottom 50 or so pixels are cropped so you can't see the buttons).
It means that installation cannot be performed with any kind of certainty. lspci -v ... 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility X700 (PCIE) (prog-if 00 [VGA]) Subsystem: Acer Incorporated [ALI] Aspire 5024WLMi Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 23 Memory at c8000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=128M] I/O ports at 9000 [size=256] Memory at c0100000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=64K] [virtual] Expansion ROM at c0120000 [disabled] [size=128K] Capabilities: <access denied> ... -- unable to change screen resolution and windows will be displayed outside the visual range https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/95783 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
