Do you have a particular sudo configuration? It seems you don't have
/usr/bin in your PATH as root. (to find dpkg-maintscript-helper in your
configuration script).
Can you try LANG=C dpkg-reconfigure ubuntu-netbook-default-settings?
setting as incomplete for now as I don't have any info to figure what's going
on (all others updates seems to be ok)
