you should check your sudo configuration. It's not the standard one:
$ sudo dpkg-maintscript-helper
should show the syntax help.

That means that /usr/bin isn't in your sudo path for whatever reason,
please check on forum to fix you /etc/sudoers (I guess your issues comes
from that). Marking it as invalid then.
