Hi Theodore, No, it's not a SSD - just a regular hard disk drive (HDD). The capacity of the hard disk is 250G. i purchased the HDD 2.5 years ago when the PC was assembled. i've been running Ubuntu since with few problems experienced. However, after upgrade to Ubuntu 10.04. a few file system related issues have been cropping up in addition to the extremely slow disk check. For example, my Ubuntu box no longer recognized a CD (ISO 9660) nor a USB 2 flash disk drive when plugged in.
