Mike, Just to let you know i solved the problem! I created a new connection, and used EXACTLY the same settings as the old, and it worked! But obviously there is a bug here that would cause many people to pull their hair out... somehow when i upgraded to 7.04 something got corrupted "under the surface" somewhere that didn't show up in the network settings window. Do you still want me to post the specifics? and the results of lspci -vv?
