The problem seems to be much improved in the 10.10 release, kernel
2.6.35-22 is currently building a raid 6 on the MV8 controller as I
write this (mv8 w/7 2tb drives, raid6). However, the driver is not 100%
just yet. syslog is reporting occasional drive unplug events, and
recovering, so it doesn't seem to be affecting the build except for 2
second drive pauses while it recovers from the spurious unplug event.
