hi, well, whatever, from a linux newbie point of view (which is important if ubuntu want to get windows users) i installed the OS from scratch and got this driver.
now, since then, i installed ubuntu feisty desktop beta, and my driver is now the ATI one: fglrxinfo display: :0.0 screen: 0 OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc. OpenGL renderer string: Radeon X1300/X1550 Series OpenGL version string: 2.0.6334 (8.34.8) the DVI problem is still occurring. if this can help, i found someone that had the exact same problem here: http://ati.cchtml.com/show_bug.cgi?id=516 the thread seems to be dead, but it can provide more info on the problem. thanks! -- dual head ATI radeon X1550 has random and frequent resolution changes on DVI output https://launchpad.net/bugs/94214 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
