Why not provide ubuntu users with corresponding option in default .vimrc? Each 
time i install ubuntu I have to search google to find this patch for vim conf 
file. And I'm not the only one - look at google results and you'll find many 
others need this addon.
Moreover, as the former gentoo user where this addition included in the default 
config I can say that this is very helpful when you doing some experiments with 
the system and need to reboot often. What would you suggest if you cannot (or 
just forgot) save the session?

Definitely voting for the option in the vimrc that help me to save my
time and nerves.
