Hello Reiner! Thanks for taking the time to file this bug report and
help us make Ubuntu better.
It would appear that version 0.63.0-2 of the upstream Debian package did
in fact fix this issue and now sets the ownership of /var/run/courier
appropriately.
Marking Fix Released. This is available in 10.04 and later.
