** Description changed:
- Binary package hint: libglib2.0-0
+ Impact: Gsettings not working big endian systems (e.g. PowerPC)
+ Resolution: Upstream code fix
+ Patch: See attached debdiff
+ Reproduction: (On PowerPC hardware) Open evince
+ Expected Result: Evince runs
+ Observed Result: Evince fails and GSettings error is reported when run from a
terminal
+ Regression: Potential regression for little endian users, other changes in
stable release
- System: PowerMac G4/800 "Silver"
- Ubuntu: v. 10.10, installed via do-release-upgrade over 10.04
-
- The libglib2.0-0 package shipping with Ubuntu 10.10 (2.26.0-0ubuntu1)
- seems to suffer from Gnome bug #630968 (see
- <https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=630968>, for my post and
- trace etc. <https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=631822>).
-
- According to Gnome, the issue has been fixed. Is there a chance to get
- fixed deb's from Ubuntu's update system, or do I have to build glib
- myself?
+ Release has been code checked, contains other small fixes and a locking issue
fix. No symbols removed.
+ Has been tested on little endian hardware, GSettings applications still run
correctly.
** Also affects: glib2.0 (Ubuntu Maverick)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
