I also forgot to mention, we have seen reports from people about cpufreq
problems where the bug was indeed in the (outdated) bios of their machine. I
would also check if there is any new bios available for your pc and try that
out.
Have you tried try uninstalling/reinstalling or upgrading your kernel?
BTW, it would help if you tell us what kernel you are using (use uname -a).
