Thank you for the quick response. I checked the MD5 before installing BackTrack and numbers matched. I booted from cd and tried to do a clean install. I'll download it iso again and will try it again.

Have you checked the MD5 or tried to redownload? How exactly are you trying to install this (launched from inside the OS, booted to CD, etc). Please elaborate on the issue you are experiencing as BackTrack is not an Ubuntu supported package and the issue you are having does not appear related to Ubuntu.
