I downloaded a second copy of backtrack iso, burned it at a slower speed tried to install from live cd but received another installer failed error message. Message stated to burn another dvd at slower speed and/or clean dvd drive.
I replaced DVD drive and this time around was able to install backtrack without errors. Have you checked the MD5 or tried to redownload? How exactly are you trying to install this (launched from inside the OS, booted to CD, etc). Please elaborate on the issue you are experiencing as BackTrack is not an Ubuntu supported package and the issue you are having does not appear related to Ubuntu.
