Finally had some time to look at the PDF.

I think the one in the text with the top aligned (and not descending
from top left to top right like the three at the lower left of the page)
look quite ok.

I have the perception that the glyph is a bit too wide.

The question is if the glyph can be made narrower without making it look 
crowded.
Maybe a possibility to reduce space consumption would be to make the top left 
non-rounded and more like the E or F (or maybe R)? 

I wonder if it would be better fit between other Glyphs, because there
is no other glyph which has a similiar top left like the ẞ.

Well, it's certainly hard ...
