Hello thewk can you please reproduce the bug then immediatly attach here these files: /var/log/syslog /var/log/syslog.1 /var/log/kern.log /var/log/Xorg.0.log /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old Then to exclude that this is not plymouth related, at startup hold right shift to recall grub menu, then press e, and in the kernel line delete quiet splash and press Ctrl+x to start in textual mode, reproduce the bug to see if it work.
