"automatically installing these libraries on *only* systems that need
them is non-trivial" why ?

xserver-xorg-video-radeon depends from libdrm-radeon1 (>= 2.4.17)
and in ubuntu by default installed xserver-xorg
it depends from xserver-xorg-video-all | xserver-xorg-video-8
and by default installed xserver-xorg-video-all (content
xserver-xorg-video-radeon ==> libdrm-radeon1) because xserver-xorg-video-8 is
virtual

and i can remove all xserver-xorg-video-all, leave only xserver-xorg-
video-radeon (xserver-xorg-video-ati ==> xserver-xorg-video-radeon ==>
libdrm-radeon1)

but need set dependens for libdrm-intel1, libdrm-nouveau1 (it not set now as
libdrm-radeon1)
i think for xserver-xorg-video-intel and xserver-xorg-video-nouveau but it not
my system and i can't check
