can you please install the latest mainline kernel to see if this issue is fixed?
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.37-rc7-natty/
install on first
linux-headers-2.6.37-020637rc7_2.6.37-020637rc7.201012221342_all.deb
then header and then image for your architecture.
