Looks like you've configured VLC in skins mode with a non-existent
(deleted??) skin. Try to run 'vlc --reset-config --reset-plugins-cache'
from the CLI to restore safe defaults. If this does not resolve the
problem, please run 'vlc -vv' from the CLI and provide the output.
