On Ubuntu 10.10 64 bit I get the following error message with an AMD Phenom
9600b quad core processor on an Asus M2n68 - AMSE2 motherboard.
"unreliable CPU thermal sensor; monitoring disabled"

I receive no error message using Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS 64 bit (kernel
2.6.32-27) and the system works great. (Incidentally I also have no
problems with the sensors using windows 7)

I hope this will be looked into and I feel comments by Martin Langsholt
to be particularly unhelpful....."This is a AMD specific upstream bug
and it will NOT be fixed, since 95% of AMDs thermal sensors give the
wrong value."

If the sensors worked fine in Ubuntu 10.04.1 but don't work in Ubuntu
10.10 then the matter should be looked into. I'm just wondering if any
possible damage could be done to components if this is not fixed?
