On Ubuntu 10.10 64 bit I get the following error message with an AMD Phenom 9600b quad core processor on an Asus M2n68 - AMSE2 motherboard. "unreliable CPU thermal sensor; monitoring disabled"
I receive no error message using Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS 64 bit (kernel 2.6.32-27) and the system works great. (Incidentally I also have no problems with the sensors using windows 7) I hope this will be looked into and I feel comments by Martin Langsholt to be particularly unhelpful....."This is a AMD specific upstream bug and it will NOT be fixed, since 95% of AMDs thermal sensors give the wrong value." If the sensors worked fine in Ubuntu 10.04.1 but don't work in Ubuntu 10.10 then the matter should be looked into.
