Thanks a lot for reporting this, however since the version of Pidgin you
are using was not downloaded form the Software Centre, we are unable to
help you. When you download an application from the Software Centre,
dependencies are resolved automatically since this was taken care of
when the program was packaged up and placed in the SC. It is advisable
for you to uninstall the current version of Pidgin and redownload it
from the SC.
