Additional information (20110121)

- I am now able to reproduce the bug, by the following steps:
1 - turn on machine and log in, with VGA connector of additional screen or
projector unplugged
2 - connect the screen (tried today with a LCD DELL 22')
3 - click on the "screens" icon in the Gnome toolbar (the one that brings up
the screens configuration dialog)
=> crash, unrecoverable black screen

I have tried to use "apport" to bring up more information (starting it, then do
the crash sequence), but as the machine crashes, I can't get the dialog
described on:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Apport
And, AFAIK, this page does not explain where the corresponding log file lives.

What's the next step for me to do ?
