Hi Joseph Yes, uncheck the box. But you have to do this with admin privileges of course. For such operations I use nautilus as sudo (start it in the terminal: sudo nautilus). I think the unchecking of the box leads to this behaviour: the system finds a file, tries to execute it instead of some standard procedure, but is then not able to execute it.
