There are netboot images from the .1 release at http://cdimages.ubuntu.com/netboot/lucid/ and my last feedback was that this was already reducing the delay from hours to minutes. More or less the patch tested now will only affect the module load race which accounts to 1.5minutes delay. The much larger delay caused by something else, should be solved (again, that is the feedback as I seem to remember).
