I have a similar--possibly the same--problem, worst with Firefox but
also with other programs: Thunderbird, Rhythmbox, Chromium, Update-
Manager. Whenever I open a new tab, do a task, or anything (scrolling
just so happens to be a good way to trigger it as well) the CPU usage of
the program and xorg (and any other processes connected to what I am
doing) shoot way up above what they are normally at. This problem just
started in the last half week, so I am inclined to believe that it is a
regression from a recent update. If you think it might be the same bug
I can post more information.
