Hmm...on your original post you have three sound outputs:
1) onboard ALC888
2) usb headset
3) HDMI out

But on your second post, there doesn't seem to be an ALC888 at all -
only USB headset and HDMI out?

Could you clarify if this problem is related to all sound cards or only
one of them (which one)?

Btw, for the USB headset there is a misnaming of the volume control that
you might be able to work around by selecting "Analog Speakers" on the
"output" tab in sound preferences / gnome-volume-control. Could that be
the issue here?
