I have the same problem on my DELL Latitude E5510. I am not sure if this is the solution but at the http://intellinuxgraphics.org/ mailing list I the have made a patch which is not included in the ubuntu kernel (at least I could not find it). I am going to try and patch a kernel but if some one else would like to try here it is http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/intel- gfx/2010-December/009017.html.
