It's been a while but I currently have this problem on Maverick (10.10) on my laptop. After using UMTS to get into the internet and then opening an OpenVPN connection to my company my /etc/resolv.conf looks like this:
========================================= # Dynamic resolv.conf(5) file for glibc resolver(3) generated by resolvconf(8) # DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE BY HAND -- YOUR CHANGES WILL BE OVERWRITTEN nameserver 139.7.30.126 nameserver 139.7.30.125 nameserver 10.x.y.z search my.company ========================================= This leads to DNS problems when I want to resolve something.my.company because the first DNS server of my ISP Vodafone (139.7.30.126) replies with NXDOMAIN and thus I don't get an IP address via DNS. I have resolvconf installed and according to the /etc/resolvconf/interface- order the tun interface should have priority. But apparently the network manager doesn't care about resolvconf. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/197156 Title: DNS problems when running VPN connections -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
