Got the same WLAN hardware, and also have the one minute delay at
"Configuring network interfaces", when the WLAN switch is on.

I use NetworkManager for wireless roaming, which in turn depends on
passwords in a keyring, so any attempt to start up the WLAN interface
before login is doomed to fail.
