I tried to follow the instructions on the link you gave. Tryying to use tune2fs to find the file system check interval did not work: cebif@cebif-desktop:~$ tune2fs -l /dev/sda1 tune2fs 1.41.12 (17-May-2010) tune2fs: Permission denied while trying to open /dev/sda1 Couldn't find valid filesystem superblock.
So I tried with sudo: sudo tune2fs -l /dev/sda1 tune2fs 1.41.12 (17-May-2010) tune2fs: Bad magic number in super-block while trying to open /dev/sda1 Couldn't find valid filesystem superblock. The other tune2fs command does not wok either. My "/" partition is definitely on sda1. Another thing I did was to format sda1 and not the separate /home partition and reinstalled Ubuntu 10.10 with the kernel 2.6.35-22-generic. Before I did any updates from Update Manager, I tested resume from suspend. It worked perfectly multiple times. I also tested hibernate multiple times and it also worked perfectly. I even did a hibernate while the game FlightGear was running in fullscreen and BOINC was running with two projects at once. There was no problem here. I the applied updates then resume from suspend failed with the latest kernel and also with the one that worked well before. The latest kernel update was 2.6.35-27-generic. If the previous kernel worked well there must have been some update affecting it and maybe the latest kernel would work too if these updates that came with it were not buggy. I will provide the log of everything I installed from the early morning of March 17 to the later part of the day. ** Attachment added: "dpkg.log, everything installed on 17 March 2011" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/729342/+attachment/1913799/+files/dpkg.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/729342 Title: Ubuntu 10.10 amd64 wont hibernate or resume from suspend -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
