Instead of building the 2.22 release, I ended using the one from https://launchpad.net/~transmissionbt/+archive/ppa.
It's been running for 4 days in a row without crashing, while the 2.13 crashed in 2 days. The 2.13 from maverick has been running more stable since a week ago or so, maybe it's not transmission-daemon fault, but a library somewhere that got updated/fixed. It's been running along the 2.22 (in different systems) since the weekend.
