C de-Avillez, I'm using the standard dir command as described in the man
page. The information found via the Terminal:
info coreutils 'dir invocation'
stating:
`dir' is equivalent to `ls -C -b'
should be placed in man dir to avoid confusion of what dir does and how
it does it. For example man dir:
NAME
dir - list directory contents
would be:
NAME
dir - list directory contents, equivalent to 'ls -C -b'
