Okay work is done on that branch. The one side effect I can see is that the slider won't appear until the call starts in the voip use-case. When before I was monitoring the sink input the slider appeared at the start of a skype call (while the ringing could be heard - audio output => sink input), now it won't appear until the call actually begins (audio input => source output). I doubt this will make Natty though.
