Hrm, nothing obvious here, perhaps except for EAPD being enabled on the Front Mic node which looks a little strange. We could try disabling it manually: download snd-hda-tools from ppa:diwic/maverick, then start "sudo hda_analyzer", then goto node 0x0c and make sure the EAPD is *not* checked. While you're there, you can also try different values of VREF (50, 80, HIZ, etc) and see if that makes the mic work. I'm assuming that when you run with the alsa driver modules installed, that the internal mic does mute but that the external isn't working either, i e a difference between the original behaviour, when the internal mic did not mute? Is that correct?
