I am setting the Status of this bug report to Incomplete to mark it as
pending on your input. Once you have supplied the requested
information, feel free to set the Status back to New. Thanks.
If you no longer have the requested file on your system, you should be
able to recreate the error simply by attempting to install emacs-
snapshot again (or whatever package you were attempting to install at
the time you got the error message). However, the byte-compilation step
creates a new temporary file with a slightly different file name each
time. You will need to examine the end of the file
/var/log/apt/term.log to find out the name of the file to attach here
(or simply the apt terminal output, if you run it at the prompt). Note
that reading the log file usually requires sudo access.
If you are knowledgeable about Emacs, reading the output from the byte-
compilation step may allow you to resolve the bug on your own. Very
often, byte-compilation bugs occur because of bugs in the package whose
byte compilation failed, not in Emacs itself.
