Good point. Here is what happens without "acpi_osi=Linux"

Worst: it does not create /sys/devices/platform/eeepc/cpufv. This
prevents the use of SHE (super hybrid engine) and the relative energy
consumption policies.

For what concerns hotkeys, here is the situation:

fn+F2: wlan toggle WORKS

fn+F7: screen on/off still doesn't work. Dmesg reported below.
    kbd_keycode: 6 callbacks suppressed
    keyboard: can't emulate rawmode for keycode 245
    keyboard: can't emulate rawmode for keycode 245

fn+F8: screen/monitor switch still does not work with no message
reported in syslog.
