I disagree, Mark. This is a HAL, not a KDE issue. The applet is NOT misbehaving, it is acting properly. It is HAL itself who fails to detect CPU capabilities, as per my two last posts - restarting the HAL service after boot has finished will workaround the issue. Only then will HAL report proper CPU capabilities.
